  • PTV is planning to upgrade the bus network for the city of Ballarat. We’d like to hear your thoughts and suggestions about the proposed plans.

Key features of the proposed bus network include:

    • Improved frequency on many routes with services
    • Better access to Federation University Mount Helen campus
    • Better coordination with trains
    • Improved directness to get you to your destination faster
    • All buses will operate via Ballarat Station
    • Better services for new housing developments at Alfredton and Brown Hill
    • A new route numbering system for regional Victoria – unique route numbers to make finding your service on the PTV Journey Planner and PTV app faster and simpler.
    • Working towards the City of Ballarat’s ’10 Minute City’ concept of ‘transitioning towards a more sustainable transport network’.

The upgraded bus network proposal is based on delivering the above features taking into account community feedback provided to the PTV customer call centre and feedback from the Regional Network Development Forum sessions held in Ballarat in 2015.

As this is a significant change to the public transport network in Ballarat, PTV is keen to hear about how you might use these services and what your feedback on the draft plans are.
